Overview

The Sisterhood of Temple Etz Chaim exists to serve and educate, to share joy and to ease sorrow, to inspire and help in all endeavors and to achieve a way of life, following the teachings of Judaism. Our Sisterhood has a 35-year history of service to Temple Etz Chaim and is affiliated with Women’s League for Conservative Judaism, an international organization of 800 Sisterhoods of conservative synagogues.

As Sisterhood members, our common goals include:

  • CONNECTING to Jewish women of all generations
  • COMMITTING to our synagogue and its children
  • CONTRIBUTING to the greater Jewish community

We sponsor a variety of educational, cultural, charitable and social programs, which enrich our minds as well as create a sense of community. We offer you the opportunity to strengthen your Jewish identity and broaden your scope of interest and involvement by contributing your commitment, energy and talents to Temple Etz Chaim and our Jewish community.

Sisterhood has a beautiful gift shop where you can purchase the perfect Judaic gift. In addition to selling tribute cards, entertainment books, and invitations, we have a day-long Chanukkah boutique featuring many unique vendors.

We are also the “kitchen ladies” where we have most of our real fun! Arrangements can be made through Sisterhood to have a lovely Shabbat dinner on Friday night or an extended Kiddush on Saturday morning after services.

Even if you are unable to actively participate, your dues will enable us to continue our wonderful work. Make a promise to yourself and join Sisterhood. If you do, we promise you will be fulfilled. If you are a new member of Temple Etz Chaim, your first year of Sisterhood is free. Please join us!
