Gesher Program

(Transitional Kindergarten Program for 5 year olds)

Gesher (the Hebrew word for bridge) is specially designed for five-year-olds with fall birthdays or those who just miss the cut-off date to begin kindergarten. This is a full day program; the class meets from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. This full day allows for plenty of time to expose the children to hundreds of wonderful experiences. One major goal of the Gesher program is to create an environment that not only focuses on academic skills, but on the “whole child”. This is a developmentally appropriate program that will support each child’s social, emotional, physical and cognitive development, preparing them for kindergarten and future successes in life. Children at this age have more of an ability to think, reason, communicate, and take initiative. They will benefit from being challenged.
