Celebrate Your B’nai Mitzvah at TEC
Mazel Tov on your child’s upcoming B’nai Mitzvah! We are honored to celebrate this significant milestone with your family. To help you plan, we have outlined the customary sponsorship opportunities and venue rental options available at our facilities.
Customary Sponsorships: Oneg & Kiddush
It is customary for the B’nai Mitzvah family to sponsor the Friday night Oneg and Saturday morning Kiddush in honor of their child’s accomplishment. These sponsorships allow the congregation to share in your joy following the services.
Sponsorship Options:
- Saturday Morning Service Package ($850): This covers both the Friday night Oneg and the Saturday morning Kiddush.
- Saturday Afternoon Service Package ($350): This covers the Friday night Oneg only, as afternoon service families are not obligated to sponsor the Saturday morning Kiddush.
- Capacity: Both packages are designed to serve up to 125 guests and congregation members.
What’s Included:
- Friday Night Basic Oneg: Includes assorted cookies, brownies, cakes, pound cakes, danishes, challah, wine and grape juice for kiddush, coffee, and tea.
- Saturday Morning Deluxe Kiddush: Includes bagels and cream cheese, yogurt, fruit, hard-boiled eggs, assorted deluxe pastries, pound cakes, danishes, cookies, brownies, cake pops, challah, wine and grape juice for kiddush, coffee, and tea.
- An Extended Kiddush Lunch Menu is available upon request. You are able to order additional items a la carte items like tuna salad, greek salad, kugel, knishes and more.
Hosting a Reception on Premises
Member families planning a private party or reception on-site may rent our facilities, including the Paskow Sanctuary, Spiegel Hall, Wolfson Auditorium, Plaza, Patio, and Warren Lawn.
- Rental Fee: The “Party on Premises” fee is $1,750.
- Security Deposit: A refundable damage deposit of $500 is required.
- Event Length: The fee entitles you to four (4.0) hours of ceremony and reception time.
Guest Limit: There is a maximum of 250 Guest Parties allowed at the venue at any one time.
Important Guidelines & Deadlines
- Payment Deadline: All fees must be paid in full 3 months (90 days) prior to your event.
- Payment Methods: You may pay via ShulCloud (ACH/Echeck or credit card). Please note there is a 3% processing fee for credit card payments.
- Approved Vendors & Kosher Requirements: To ensure the sanctity of our facility, all food, beverages, and catering services must be strictly Kosher and certified by a recognized Rabbinical authority. Families must contract exclusively with vendors from TEC’s pre-approved list for all catering and bartending needs. Additionally, your chosen vendor is required to submit a detailed Kosher menu in advance to ensure that all ingredients and preparation methods—including the strict separation of meat and dairy—adhere to Kashrut laws.
- Event Coordination: Families hosting a reception must hire a “day-of coordinator” and provide their contact information to TEC at least 15 days before the event.
- Insurance: For private rentals, Guest must provide a certificate of insurance naming “Temple Etz Chaim” as an additional insured.
