Temple Etz Chaim is thrilled to welcome you to worship and observe the High Holidays for 2025/5786. 

We look forward to seeing you and hope that you will join us for as many services, traditions, and events as possible as we welcome the new year.

What options are there for families? In addition to Family Services on the mornings of the 1st day of Rosh Hashanah (September 23) and Yom Kippur (Oct. 2), we have additional events for kids of all ages. Tashlich  services will be held at the beach on Sunday, September 28. As a reminder, child care is available for our infant-preschool age congregants during the morning services. What will Security entail? TEC will have numerous guards stationed throughout the campus to ensure the safety of all. All attendees will be required to pass through a metal detector and have their bags checked. VCSD will make additional patrols and will stop in periodically to ensure safety. We will have a single entrance and exit. If you do exit the building, you will be required to go through security to re-enter.

Do I need tickets? Yes! Tickets must be displayed and available at entrance. Tickets will be checked by the Temple staff, Board Members and/or security personnel.

How do I get tickets? All active members in good standing will be automatically mailed their tickets. Please contact the Temple office if you require additional tickets, would like to purchase reserved parking, or have questions about your account.

What if I lose my tickets? If your tickets are not available or if they have been forgotten or misplaced, we can check our master list to verify membership; however, proper identification will be required.

Will you be Live Streaming? Yes! Our primary services, we will be available via our Livestream Page or our YouTube Channel.

 

What aret the differences between all the opportunities for children during the High Holdidays? We are glad you asked!

  • Family Friendly High Holiday Services:
    Geared towards families with younger children, these services offer a creative and inspirational service from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.  No tickets are required—everyone is welcome!
  • High Holiday Hangout
    Before High Holiday Experience and Junior Congregation in the Wolfson Auditorium
    This is a relaxed gathering area for students in grades K—7 to enjoy time together with games and crafts.  Snacks and activities will be provided. 
  • High Holiday Experience (Grades K-4):
    This program is specifically designed for children too old for childcare and not quite ready for junior congregation.  Students will enjoy a creative service and inspiring activities.  Please bring a dairy or pareve lunch labeled with your child’s first and last name and grade level.  Snacks will be provided.  Registration is required.
     
  • High Holiday Junior Congregation (Grades 5-7):
    An interactive service emphasizing participation and learning about the significance of the High Holidays.  Please bring a dairy or pareve lunch labeled with your child’s first and last name and grade level.  Snacks will be provided.  Registration is required.
     
  • Neila Service (children of all ages):
    We invite your children to be part of this concluding service on October 12 at 6:50 p.m. (sharp).  The sanctuary will be lit dimly as the children walk from the back of the sanctuary to the Bima, holding a light stick.  This moment is an emotional time for the congregation.
